What are the major Qualification Criteria for RPL Report from ACS?

 


Candidates seeking an Australian Skilled Migration visa must complete the ACS Skill Assessment. There are many qualifying types for the ACS skill evaluation and eligibility requirements. The applicant's experience should be adequately connected with the qualification attained. The applicant's goal is to settle in Australia and find solid employment.

Applicants having an ICT background will be evaluated by the Australian Computer Society. ACS is the official body that will be in charge of accepting your skill evaluation. You must submit a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) report if you do not have an ICT qualification. An RPL report is required to determine whether the applicant's competence fits the current requirement for expertise.

The RPL report demonstrates the applicant's skills and experience to migrate to Australia. The ACS RPL report is used to assess the skills of applicants who are not related to ICT or have insufficient ICT backgrounds. Assume you are an ICT professional with prior employment experience. In such a scenario, you must provide an ACS RPL report to indicate that your qualification and qualifications meet the ACS's requirements for eligible migration to Australia. Assessment of ICT Content in Tertiary Qualifications

Qualifications in this category are evaluated based on whether they have an ICT Major or an ICT Minor in computers. If the ICT content is less than a minor, the qualification is classified as Non-ICT.

 

ICT Major Criteria

Bachelor's Degree

An applicant will be deemed a computer major if they have three years of Bachelor's degree. As long as at least 33% of the academic qualifications are in information and communication technology. If your qualification is longer in duration, it is compared to a three-year AQF Level 7 award, i.e., a Bachelor's degree.

  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree Level

A certificate, intermediate diploma, or associate degree paired with a major in computing is deemed to have a major in computing if at least 50% of the qualification is in ICT. The longer-duration certification is deemed equivalent to AQF level 5 or 6 certificates.

Post Graduate Degree Level

A postgraduate degree that does not need a Bachelor with an ICT Major for entrance is deemed a computing major if it has at least 50% ICT. Longer-term credentials are evaluated to the equivalent to an AQF Level 8 certificate or above. An Australian Postgraduate degree must contain at least 67% ICT material despite having just 12 topics.

  • Australian postgraduate credentials need at least three semesters or one and a half years of full-time study.

  • A minimum of 2 semesters or one year of full-time relevant ICT study, as well as twelve units or subjects, are required.

A postgraduate qualification requiring a Bachelor's degree with a major in ICT for admission must have at least 33% ICT material, all of which must be at the postgraduate level.

ICT Minor Criteria

A bachelor's degree is deemed a minor in computing if the ICT material constitutes at least two-thirds of the major requirements.

Inadequate ICT content

Non-ICT qualifications are less than the required ICT content for a major.

Criteria for closely associated ICT material

The education qualification must contain at least 65% ICT material relevant to the purported vocation to meet the appropriateness standards.

Academic Record Statement

Your undergraduate record should include a list of courses completed and the grade points achieved. Web reports and result slips are not acceptable. If required, applicants should have a legend or key detailing the grading method to understand nuances.

Completion of Qualification but graduation certificate not issued.

If candidates have completed their credentials but have not yet received their certificates, an official declaration confirming the course completion date must be provided.

Abstract for a Thesis or Research Project

A synopsis or research report is necessary if the certification requires a thesis or research report. The abstract should include the supervisor's and institution's names. The thesis's published title must be used. Mention the number (percentage) and type of ICT material related to the designated ANZSCO on the front page of the abstract.

Prerequisites as per Region

  • Bologna Accord

A diploma replacement must be presented if the applicant is from a signatory nation to the Bologna Agreement.

  • People's Republic of China (PRC)

If the applicant is from the People's Republic of China (PRC), the graduation diploma and award certificate must be presented by the Academic Degree Regulations of the PRC.

  • Pakistan

If the applicant is from Pakistan, the HEC must provide an authenticated copy of the award certificate and a full academic transcript (Higher Education Commission Pakistan).

  • The Philippines

Proof of passing the Professional Regulation Commission's Licensure Examinations, if applicable, should be required if the applicant is from the Philippines.
